Celebration Ride 2010

The original Celebration of Australian Motorcycling has reformed to organise the biggest motorcycle awareness ride this country has ever seen. Born of an original idea by former Channel Nine sports commentator Darrell Eastlake, the 2010 Celebration Ride will gather at Eastern Creek Raceway in Sydney on Saturday October 30 as a major part of the NSW Motorcycle Awareness Week and will include celebrity riders, speeches, live music, food, drinks, trade stalls and displays. A special focus of this event will be installing Darrell Eastlake as a permanent patron of these historic motorcycling events.
Historic Rides Relived
The 1996 and 2001 Celebration Rides to our nation’s capital created history both in the size of the rides, estimated at 20 to 30 thousand riders and pillions, and in their motorcycle awareness effect. Funds raised from these rides saw the airing of several national television campaigns calling for Australia’s car driving public to be more aware of riders on our roads and had an immediate effect in reducing motorcycle fatalities.
